Brutal Shaolin Kung Fu Training

Lost and hidden among Chinese Mountains in monasteries that instantly give us flashbacks of the movie Mulan, live the Shaolin Monks. Not all of them live in monasteries for life. In fact, for some people, the Temple experience can be a way of discovering themselves maybe for some months or years. Some others on the contrary dedicate their whole life to such a choice, and what a choice I'd dare to say!
Some of them even walk on the water!

As you can see in the video, it's not your ordinary vacation. This experience gives you incredible control of your body while calming your mind, but requires everything in change. Your whole spirit, discipline, dedication, and commitment are requested in order to succeed. Do you still think you could make it? If so, give a look at some of the most insane exercises that these warriors go through every day.

"Ok, they train really hard and develop the ability to do cool tricks, so what? How could it ever be useful?"
I got you, I see where you coming from. Although it's true that nowadays go on mainly in order to continue a centenary tradition, there's more.
Shaolin Temples are also the crib of many, extremely valiant warriors and fighters.
Xie We aka "The Hunter" is a former Shaolin Monk who pursued his dream of competing in MMA, and he's a beast.

Last but not least, a mention that I cannot forget to mention is that of Yi Long. Although he is not officially a Shaolin Monk, which means that he hasn't trained in the Temple not recognized by the official institution. But he is totally worth mentioning since he self-trained himself the Shaolin Kung Fu and he too is unbelievably strong.
Yi Long has even fought what is known as "The Fight of the Century" against his opponent Buakaw. They gifted the world an incredible show in a Shaolin vs Muay Thai fight.

Whoa, after reading this, I feel both amazed and slightly terrified. The dedication these athletes have is just beyond words. Do I also need to show up for training at 5 AM, or does my 9:30 AM coffee run counts as dedication? Probably not, right? πŸ˜‚

Wow, the dedication to master the art of Shaolin Kung Fu is remarkable, and brutal indeed! Got a newfound respect for monks. But hey, any chance they've got a 'Kung Fu for couch potatoes' course?
