On his Vietnamese tour, Wing Chun master Pierre Flores is meeting different martial artists and masters on his mission to gain back respect for traditional martial arts. Differently from the last time, this one is a Wing Chun Match.

Wing Chun Match

This Match took place in Hanoi in 2017 between the Canadian Wing Chun and Pak Mei master Pierre Flores and the Wing Chun master Tran Le Hoai Linh. The friendly match lasted 2 minutes and 12 seconds.

Both masters agreed on the following rules of the match before its beginning: only Wing Chun's typical techniques, no kicks, and no deadly or offensive moves with the purpose of destroying the opponent.

The day before, Master Pierre Flores attended another match with the Karate Master Doan Bao Chau. Pierre won the match against the Karate master with results that got many people talking.

The main objections to the match that occurred between Pierre and Doan Bao Chau were the age and weight difference. After the match, the Karateka declared that he did not win because of the lack of space. You can observe the match in the following article.

However, to Doan's comment about the match master Tran Le Hoai Linh responded by saying that if he accepted the fight, he was all right with the space. If he really needed more space he should have attended the match in a stadium.

Tran Le Hoai Linh

Master Tran Le Hoai Linh is the niece of the famous Master Tran Thuc Tien, one of the greatest disciples of the Vietnamese Wing Chun - Nguyen Te Cong. In Vietnam, Tran is considered one of the best Wing Chun masters.

However, regarding this Wing Chun match, Tran declared that he fought as an individual and that he does not represent any faction or any school either. He declared this statement even before the match started.

After the loss, Tran declared that he does not think that he is inferior to Flores in technique or moves. However, his age had a big influence and he does not feel equally physically strong to Flores. Tran was 61 years old.

Title should say "wing Chun light sparring demo" honestly. Clear it was a super casual thing. Not a fight.

Vaya mierda de wingchun,si yo soy alumno de estos dos me doy de baja en su escuela y salgo corriendo...pero de la risa jajajaja
There are different lineages of Wing Chun and, most important, different masters (as in other martial arts). These two of course are not the Wing Chun representatives

Both have exposed that wing chun needs a serious skill improvement in order to be useful. Sorry guys.

I would challenge this guy any time. I've been doing MMA for a while and he won't stand a chance with me in the ground or stand up.

If you watch the fight properly , when they started engaging each other , all wing chun style went out the door. It become literally a free style fight and it does show that this fight was determined by the height , weight and overall strength of a fighter. The older Asian man was definitely the weaker fighter and he lost because of that.
