Steven Seagal is a rather controversial figure nowadays involved in many rumors, not exclusively linked to Martial Arts and Action Movies. We've found some Interviews in which he states his opinion about his colleagues from the martial arts and movie industry.
He must really be one of the most divisive action movie stars ever. He made his first debut in Hollywood in 1988 starring in Hard to Kill and soon after met with much success. He was a huge martial arts superstar in the nineties.
A lot of things have changed since the nineties and if before he was considered a great martial artist, today his skills are questioned. It seems like people either love him or hate him, no shades of grey are allowed.
Just as we mentioned before, Steven is also linked with eyelash-rising events, whether it's him having strong opinions about martial artists or even some stories of him meeting Bruce Lee that turned out to not be that true.
On many occasions when asked about JCVD, Steven would not try to hide the fact that he is not impressed at all by the guy. Not only he denies him being a real martial artist, but he also puts in doubt him being a Champion at all, adding that he's not the only one to think alike.
In one short video, when asked if the rumors of him and Jean Claude having a fight were true, Steven responded with a very self-confident: "It would be like me smashing an ant. If he sees me, he runs".
On the other hand, a few times Jean Claude spoke about Steven he didn't have bad things to say about him. Jean said he actually likes Steven and would love to see him on the screen. As to Steven's words toward him, Jean thinks it's because of his success.
And again, Micheal Jay White doesn't seem to be among Steven's favorites either. In fact, in his opinion, he's not a true Martial Artist.
Micheal Jay White, on the other hand, has some interesting stories about Seagal too. He says that Steven is known for beating up and not respecting stuntmen.
He seems to have strong opinions about many people out there. Another one was Chuck Norris. He basically just had to said about him that he's starting to get old. Another famous fighter he had a strong opinion about is GSP - Georges St-Pierre, the UFC Champion.
Despite his achievements and wins, Steven isn't that impressed with the welterweight champion.
"I think [St-Pierre] is a really nice guy. I think he is a good fighter and a good martial artist. Would I call him great? No, I just think he's a wonderful and good martial artist and a good guy. Some people are born with greatness, and some people sort of acquire it, but I think with time, he will become better and better."
