Wing Chun VS Karate: Brutal KO

On his mission to win back the popularity and respect of traditional martial arts, Perre Francois Flores challenges martial artists and combat fighters. While he doesn't give up, many Wing Chun practitioners and martial artists have criticized him for his non-martial behavior and his skills too. Let's take a look at this Wing Chun vs Karate match together.

Wing Chun vs Karate

If you made it so far I probably know what you're thinking: where is the Wing Chun that I was promised? Well, among many others, this too was a raised question. As you'll find below, Francois Flores has mixed Wing Chun with another style taught exceptionally by his Master - Kung Fu Pak Mei Style.

Starting from his stance, your Wing Chun Alarm was probably freaking out already. On the other hand, the Karate Practitioner is a Vietnamese Master named Doan Bao Chau.

Wait, Pak Mei as the Japanese Master from Kill Bill? Of course, Tarantino's one is just a fictional character inspired however by a legendary figure Bak Mei who is believed to be one of the five survivors of the Shaolin Temple. The Southern Kung Fu Style would take the name after his creator.

About the Match

As you could imagine, this sparring got many people upset. First things first, sparring with other martial artists and sharpening your skills is always a respectful practice. Pierre's harsh approach to his significantly older and lighter opponent wasn't really appreciated, however. In fact, height and age differences are pointed out by many.

Master Pierre Francois Flores

Flores is a Nam Anh student from who he learned his Wing Chun and Pak Mei. Wing Chun is not Pierre's first martial art that he embarked on. He is a former Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, and Hapkido practitioner. He learned Wing Chun under Grandmaster Nam Anh, who also taught him the famous Pak Mei Style.

In 2018, Nam Anh gave to Pierre Flores the mandate to spread his knowledge of the Pak Mei Style. Before that, Pierre was already a Chief Instructor of the Montreal Branch School.

The weight and size on the 2 fights I saw with this guy are not balanced, the opponents are way smaller and with much less weight. One punch or kick from the opponents is not compared to one given by the Canadian guy. This is why he don't care going to them not caring if they punch or kick him.

Pésimo video, la diferencia de peso, estatura, incluso la edad. Una ventaja muy grande y el que dicen es peleador de wingchun lo derriba con una patada alta, su estilo de pelea no es bueno y todavia le patea el rostro cuando esta derribado, pesimo para mi gusto.

The Canadian is not performing Wing Chung as by his stance or hand movements. Most likely Indonesian Pencak Silat by the stomp steps and hand slaps.

Basic fighting technique is missing....specifically, hands were down the whole time. That's why he got knocked out. Hell, Manny Pacquiao' would've knocked him out with just boxing. Pretty poor form for the big guy to be kicking someone when he's on his knees, though.

I took 3 different martial arts while growing up... Karate, jiu jitsu, and muay thai... There is no technique in any part of this fight that resembles any martial arts... Just a couple of jackasses.

Who are these people making comments??? No art practitioner stops because the opponent is no a knee or down! It ends when the opponent is out or surrenders his or her challenge!! This “example ” was not in a formal “mortal” combat! It was a bunch of slapping and two final kicks. Just terrible!!
