Karate did not originate in Japan. Okinawa is the home of karate. An original style to Okinawa is Shorin Ryu. Shorin in Okinawan is Shaolin, based off the white crane form. During the cultural exchange between Okinawa and Japan, Funikoshi taught it wrong to the Japanese on purpose. It is easily recognized by say, Shotokan (Japan) stances that are too deep and many more tell tale signs. You could use some actual history on Karate. Naha is the home of karate. It's not even the style it's the man behind it.
